Travel Documents Needed
If
you are a U.S. Citizen travelling into Mexico by land, you need to make sure you bring either:
A) A valid Passport
or Passport Card (Available spring 2008)
B) Government-issued photo ID, such as driver´s license, along with proof
of citizenship such as birth certificate.
After June 1st, 2009; the US Department of defense will require all U.S.
citizens travelling to the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico to show a valid passport, not just a birth certificate, in order to
re-enter the United States.
